Seishonen Fukushi Centre (Youth Welfare Centre)

The Seishonen Fukushi Centre mainly supports teens from the ages of 12 to 19+ that are abused or abandoned, by teaching them self-reliance either at their schools or at their jobs, and to provide follow-up care through counseling and other support. It also serves as a “halfway house” for children who can no longer stay in government funded children’s homes. The Centre counsels these young adults and assists them in finding starting jobs to help prepare them for the outside world. Funds donated to the Centre will go towards basic needs such as food and shelter. However, since there is a serious shortage of recreational funds, the ACCJ donation will assist in providing the Centre residents with sports and art activities, and even holiday expeditions.
